When different stress factors are present (whether physical, allergic, emotional, or from infection) they can lead to an overstrain of the sympathetic nervous system. Further investigation by Dr. Perrin has led to a probable cause of the nervous system overload being a build up of toxins in the fluid around the brain and spinal cord. These toxins are meant to flow through channels and into the lymph system. The Perrin Technique, developed in 1989, aims to manually drain toxins from the cerebrospinal fluid into the lymphatic system.
Movement and massage of the soft tissues in the head, neck, back and chest direct all the toxins out of the lymphatic system and into the blood where they are eventually detoxified in the liver.
Eventually, with less poisons affecting the center nervous system, the hypothalamus and sympathetic nervous system begin to function correctly, restoring health.
